George West.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. I have lived in New York City (Manhattan) for the last 36 years. On leaving L.A. I drifted for 8 years. I worked a short time as an apprentice to Enrique Alvarez, in New Orleans. In my search for Art, I believe he put me on track. The rest of my "knowledge" of Art comes from living and working in New York City. I was part of a group show at the Robert Steele Gallery, in N.Y. 2007 .The "Ties That Bind", my latest work, is a series of paintings, expressing the restraints of civil life on the savage man/woman. What law does to freedom, what knowledge does to imagination, etc. The bridle desire places on us, in any given circumstance, moment, time.

My drawings are done live in the public spaces of N.Y.C. On the streets, in the parks, on the subways.
